Tributes, toys, and flowers are being laid at the scene of a house fire in Wolverhampton in which two little boys were killed.

The children - aged one and three - died at the scene on Mason Street near the city centre on Friday night (24 April).

One tribute reads: "Precious angels taken too soon. Beautiful stars, shining bright for all to cherish."

Another said: "Such a tragic loss of young lives."

Emergency services were called at around 8:30pm. One woman and two other children managed to escape unhurt.

DCI Kylie Westlake said: "This is a truly tragic incident and our thoughts remain very much with those who loved the children who have been lost.

"We understand the shock and distress this awful incident will have caused to many people and we are working at pace to ascertain exactly what has happened."

A woman in her 30s who was arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of two children has since been released on bail.
