Investigation underway into death of Southampton teenager in crash

A 17 year old boy died in a collision on Portsdown Hill on the outskirts of Portsmouth

An investigation has started into a fatal crash on the outskirts of Portsmouth, in which a teenager from Southampton died.

Emergency services were called to James Callaghan Drive on Portsdown Hill at around 11pm last night (Friday 4th July 2025).

There they found a 17 year old boy - who'd been on a motorbike - had sadly died at the scene.

His family are being supported by specialist officers from Hampshire Police.

We're told there have been no arrests made at this stage.

The driver of the car involved is helping with enquiries, as officers appeal for witnesses and footage of the moments leading up to what happened.
