Six Nations 2026: seven Ulster players are named in Ireland squad

Seven Ulster players have been named in a 37-strong Ireland squad for the forthcoming Six Nations.
Among them is scrum-half Nathan Doak - one of two uncapped players included with the other, Munster second row Edwin Edogbo,
Doak is joined by fellow Ulster players - forwards Tom Stewart, Tom O'Toole and Nick Timoney and backs Jacob Stockdale, Stuart McCloskey and Rob Baloucoune.
Andy Farrell's side Farrell’s side open their 2026 Championship against France at Stade de France on Thursday, February 5.
They then return home to the Aviva Stadium to face Italy on Saturday, February 14.
After that it is England at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on Saturday, 21 February before back-to-back home matches in Dublin to conclude the campaign.
Farrell said: “I am delighted to announce the squad for the forthcoming Guinness Men’s Six Nations. I believe that we have a talented and committed group who have the aptitude and drive to bring success to Ireland over the coming weeks.
"The Six Nations is an incredible tournament which brings out the best in players, and I have no doubt that these fixtures will be keenly contested once more.
“The squad has evolved over the last 18 months, with 12 players making their international debuts over the last year alone, and I know how keen this group is to make its mark for Ireland.
"Led once more by Caelan (Doris), we know that we have to hit the ground running and we’re looking forward to regrouping on Sunday and meeting the challenges ahead in a positive frame of mind."
