Women's T20 World Cup: Ireland book their place after Super-Six win over Thailand

They can now look forward to the showpiece event in the summer

Ireland were celebrating today (Sunday) after booking their place in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

They clinched qualification for the summer competition in the early hours after a superb 62-run win over Thailand in their final Super-Six qualifying game.

Openers, skipper, Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter began well with the bat after Lewis won the toss at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Nepal.

Player of the Match was Arlene Kelly who also reached the milestone of 100 caps for her country.

Louise Little also reached 50 caps.

Meanwhile, Lewis won top run-scorer for the tournament with a tally of 276.

The showpiece finals will take place in June and July in England.
