Autumn has well and truly arrived, and we cannot wait for cosy knits and pumpkin spice lattes.
One of the most popular activities for the fall season includes a visit to a local pumpkin patch, where families can pick their perfect pumpkin and carve for the big night on October 31st.
This is something the entire family can enjoy, from walking through the bright orange fields to picking pumpkins right off the stalk.
Most pumpkin patches will be open from the start or mid-October right through to Halloween weekend, but it’s best to contact the venue for check their social pages for any opening/closing updates before you go.

Streamvale Farm
Grab a mini wheelbarrow and choose from thousands of perfect pumpkins at Streamvale Farm. With so much packed into your session, this is a Halloween Experience you and your family won't forget. Streamvale offers the chance to meet farm animals, explore the surroundings and enjoy exciting seasonal activities.
Hallowee’uns at The Jungle
This October, Hallowee'uns returns to The Jungle for a family Halloween adventure packed with pumpkins, activities and plenty of autumn fun. As well as picking their favourite pumpkin to take home, little ones can hop aboard the Haunted Haycart, toast marshmallows around the fire, share their best monster moves at our Halloween Disco and take on an adventure activity of your choice.
Your visit also includes access to The Jungle's play park, with slides, swings and climbing frames, perfect for keeping the wee'uns entertained between activities.
Colin Glen's Pumpkin Forest & Gruffalo Walk
Watch the classic tale of The Gruffalo brought to life in Colin Glen's woods, and spot handcrafted characters hiding among the trees. Then wander the Pumpkin Forest where you can choose your perfect pumpkin, join mini beast hunts, and snap plenty of photos of your little explorers.
Mountpanther Farm Park
By far the biggest event of the year at Mountpanther, the team have got everything from pumpkin carving to fancy dress competitions. There's a scarecrow disco, play areas, crafts, scavenger hunt, Science Lab and much more. Are you brave enough to step inside their Haunted House? Exploring spooky rooms, surprising scenes and family-friendly frights around every corner. Keep an eye out for friendly Halloween characters as they make their way around the park.
Laganvale Farm
With hundreds of pumpkins grown locally on the farm, and in a variety of shapes, colours and sizes, the team have expert carvers on hand to help with any spooky designs. Once you've finished your lantern, why not explore the other activities on the farm including the creepy maize maze, spooky story-telling, pedal tractors and go-karts.
Woodview Garden Centre, Armagh
Woodview showcases one of the best displays in Northern Ireland. This year their patch is open from Saturday 17th October to Saturday 24th October (closed Sundays). Their speical Autism sessions will be 14th to 16th October - to book DM the team on their socials.
Dyan Mill Farm, Caledon
Whether you are visiting with family, meeting friends or looking for a fun seasonal day out, Dyan Mill Farm is a great place to embrace the autumn spirit and enjoy a memorable pumpkin-picking experience. Don't miss their petting zoo with a wide variety of animals to see with feeding & petting opportunities. Tickets must be pre-booked online and in advance to avoid disappointment!
Maxwell's Pumpkin Patch NI, Castlederg
If you're looking for a fall family photoshoot, then Maxwells is the place to be. This American themed pumpkin patch has a host of 'Instagram-worthy' backdrops across the farm. It's dog-friendly too, so why don't you make it a real family occasion.
The Ark Open Farm, Newtownards
The Ark Open Farm has announced their Halloween Mini Show, new for 2026, as witches gather around the cauldron for bubbling brews, spell-casting and a touch of Halloween magic. You'll also pick and carve your perfect pumpkin, make your own slime, toast marshmallows, explore the Halloween Trail and Fairytale Forest, and meet some creepy creatures in their new Animal Encounters Barn.
Hillsborough Castle & Gardens
This October half term, gather your little witches, wizards and adventurers for a spellbinding day out at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. Explore 100 acres of enchanting gardens and visit the pumpkin patch to choose your own pumpkin to take home and transform into a spooky Halloween creation. Little adventurers can enjoy outdoor workshops, magical storytelling and classic autumn games, from conker duels to welly-tossing.
Craighall Pumpkin Patch, Antrim
Craighall Farm Pumpkin Patch is a fun-filled autumn destination, perfect for families and friends looking to celebrate the magic of the season. Their Pumpkin Patch Honesty Box will be open from 10th–31st October, every day from 10am–4pm. Keep an eye on their socials for updates.
Fort Evergreen Play Park, Warrenpoint
Safe to say, this will be the ONLY pumpkin patch with life-size animatronic dinosaurs. Choose from your own pumpkin from the patch and take it to the Carving Barn, where a friendly team of witches will help you carve it. Leave the mess behind and take home your spooky creation.
