Young woman in critical condition following North Belfast assault

A young woman is fighting for her life after being seriously assaulted in North Belfast.

It happened in the Brucevale Park area on Tuesday.

A 21 year old man has been charged in connection with the attack and is due in court later.

A PSNI statement said, “Police have charged a man to court following a serious assault in north Belfast.”

“The 21-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault and criminal damage.”

“He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning, 10th July.”

“As is usual procedure, all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
