Two men dead following Donegal crash
Two men in their late teens have died and another is seriously injured following a crash with a lorry and car.
Two men in their late teens have died following a crash involving a lorry and car yesterday (Tuesday) evening at St. Johnston, Co. Donegal.
A third man, who was the driver of the car, was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment of serious injuries before being transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Gardaà and emergency services were alerted to the collision at around 11.15pm.
Gardaà say there were two passengers in the car, one was pronounced dead at the scene. While the second passenger was taken Altnagelvin Hospital where he later died.
No other injuries were reported at the time.
The R236 road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaà are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.45pm and 11.45pm on Tuesday 24th February 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating GardaÃ.
