'Small number' of homes evacuated in security alert

There is a security alert in Killaloo.
Police provided an update on Thursday afternoon after the discovery of a suspicious object was made in the Gulf Road area.
It was found around 11:20AM. The Gulf Road was closed at its junction with the A6.
A small number of homes have been evacuated.
Later on Thursday evening, police provided an update to say the object was an elaborate hoax.
