Co Down: reward offered for information on lamb attack

A reward has been offered for information on an attack on lambs in Co Down

A reward of up to £5,000 was offered today (Thursday) for information leading to leading to a conviction after 13 lambs were killed on a Co Down farm.

It was made by animal rights group PETA.

The attack at a farmer on Drumsesk Road in Rostrevor took place on March 14th.

It is understood 11 lambs suffered broken necks while the other two had been strangled.

At the time, the PSNI branded the incident "a shocking crime" and appealed for information.

PETA Vice President Elisa Allen said: "It’s imperative that any community faced with a cruel and callous act such as this take measures to find the culprit and bring them to justice,”

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who can help should contact officers on 101, quoting reference 495 14/03/26."
