Reopening date for Belfast Zoo announced
A small amount of e. coli was found in a routine water sample taken from the site

Belfast Zoo will reopen this weekend, following a temporary closure after the detection of a small amount of e. coli in a routine water sample taken from the site.
Doors reopen for visiting on Saturday 14 June.
Additional follow-up water supply samples, as recommended by the Public Health Agency, have been tested and meet regulatory standards.
Following engagement with the NI Environment Agency and the council’s own Environmental Health team, we understand that the previous routine water sample taken was an isolated incident.
Routine testing of water supply is just one measure the Zoo undertakes to ensure the health and safety of visitors, staff and the animals it cares for.
A statement from the team at Belfast Zoo reads: "We thank visitors for their patience during this temporary closure and are sorry for any disappointment caused.
"Those who had pre-booked tickets from Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 June can call the Zoo team on 028 9077 6277 to reschedule their visit or request a refund."
