Met Office says those out walking also need to take care

Police warned motorists today (Wednesday) to take extra care on roads across Northern Ireland as ice and snow are making driving conditions hazardous.
The PSNI issued the travel warning on the back of a Met Office yellow alert which will be in place until midday.
In a statement. police said: " Please take extra care on the roads this morning especially on those which may not have been gritted.
"Clear your windscreen of ice before you set off and remember to slow down and increase the distance between you and the vehicle ahead."
Jonathan Vautrey from the Met Office told Downtown Radio & Cool FM that it was not just drivers who pay particular attention this morning.
"Particularly on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths," he said. "So it's not just those out in cars, people who are out walking should take care as well.
"Potentially we will see some injuries from falls on those icy and slippery surfaces."
Meanwhile, a number of schools remained closed.
