Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after vehicle hits pedestrians in Millisle

A car has collided with a number of pedestrians in Millisle.

It happened just after 11 o'clock on Saturday night in Main Street.

Police say the vehicle turned around and drove past the scene at licensed premises again before making off from the scene.

Two people have been taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "The vehicle was located a short time later outside Walkers Lane, Millisle.

"One man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a number of driving offences, he is currently in police custody."

Motorists are advised that Main Street, Millisle is has reopened (Sunday afternoon).
