Hoax pipe bomb left outside property in Londonderry

A hoax pipe bomb has been discovered outside a property in Londonderry.

The PSNI said the incident in the Winchester Park area of Derry was reported at around 10.50pm last night (Thursday).

Ammunition Tactical Officers attended the Waterside area of the city and police cordons put in place.

After the device was examined, it was declared a hoax and has been removed for forensic examination.

Detective Sergeant McAdoo said: “We are working to establish a motive for this incident, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch with detectives by calling 101, quoting reference number 1816 of 23/01/25.”
