Huge Céilí taking place in Belfast tomorrow and EVERYONE is invited
Last updated 1st Jul 2026
Belfast TradFest, LQ BID and Translink have joined forces to transform Belfast Grand Central Station into a spirited spectacle tomorrow (July 2nd) as hundreds of commuters are expected to gather for a giant céilí dance.
Taking place from 5pm, everyone is invited to be part of the experience, from seasoned dancers to complete beginners.
There are 8 céilís planned throughout July, along with a host of musical performances and bodhrán sessions, as part of LQ BID’s ‘Grand Central Station Sessions’.
The month-long series aims to draw attention to Belfast Tradfest’s 2026 programme which takes place from July 26th and August 2nd, but also highlight how events that bring people together animate the city and support enhanced cohesion and wellbeing.
Stevie Maginn, Communications and Events Manager at LQ BID explained, “We’re really pleased to bring Grand Central Station Sessions back this year, particularly ahead of a bumper year for cultural events.
"By bringing large events like the céilís to the places people live, work and travel, we can encourage greater engagement with the arts, whilst also contributing to the social vitality of the city centre. Céilí dancing isn’t about technical perfection – it’s about fun and inclusivity, making it the perfect way to bring people together in one of Belfast's most important public spaces.
The remaining céilís will take place on the following dates and are all free to attend.
July 9, 5pm
July 16, 3pm
July 23, 4pm
July 25, 1pm and 6pm
July 26, 6pm
July 28, 6pm
