Belfast One is welcoming families into the city centre to enjoy a host of free, family-friendly Easter activities later this week.

On Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th April, in the heart of the Belfast, families will find a programme of exciting activities to keep the whole family entertained over the school holidays.

2 Royal Avenue will become an Easter Extravaganza, with spring-themed arts and crafts in the butterfly and bee garden craft area, an educational beehive and bug hotel and a kids’ Spring disco with fun DJ Dee Johnson.

There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt filled with treats and prizes, face painting, balloon modelling and few surprise visits from some very famous Easter characters. Visitors won’t miss the 10 ft bunny for a fun family photo opportunity.

The Easter Extravaganza follows other major city centre events by Belfast One, including the Halloween Takeover with monsters spotted across the city and the popular pumpkin patch at City Hall, as well as Santa’s Post Office which saw 10,000 letters make their way to the North Pole.

Martina Connolly, CEO of Belfast One BID says they have invested in a jam-packed weekend of free family fun, “The events in 2 Royal Avenue over that weekend will be fantastic for the whole family to enjoy and we’re delighted to be able to offer this extensive programme of activities for free.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming families to a beautifully spring themed city centre this Easter, offering a fantastic free day out packed with fun for all ages. With colourful displays, lively activities and plenty to explore, it’s the perfect way to spend quality time together in the heart of the city.

“There truly is something for everyone to enjoy, and we hope visitors make the most of the Easter weekend while discovering everything the city has to offer.”
