My Mum, Your Dad couple Janey and Roger announce engagement
They met on the show in 2023
It's fair to say that TV dating shows don't always have the best track record when it comes to lasting relationships, but one love story from ITV/STV's My Mum, Your Dad has captured viewers' hearts and become a genuine success story.
Janey Smith and Roger Hawes first met when they appeared on the first series of the Davina McCall show back in 2023, after being nominated by their respective children.
After finding a true connection at the retreat over two weeks, the pair continued to date outside of the show, with the couple confirming they were still going strong once the show had aired.
Now, three years on, Janey and Roger have proven love still exists, with Roger popping the question!
Announcing the lovely news on social media over the weekend, Janey shared a selfie alongside Roger, holding up her left hand to show off her engagement ring. She wrote: '🥹💍 dreams do come true … x'. (sic)
Family, friends and fans of the couple were quick to comment, expressing their love and congratulations for the pair.
Roger's daughter Jess wrote: 'Royal Wedding incoming 🫶🏼❤️🍾'.
My Mum, Your Dad couple Jenny and Danny, who are also still together from series two, also commented. Jenny wrote: 'Eeeek congratulations to you gorgeous pair. Need to meet up to celebrate 🍾 🥳 xxx', with Danny adding: 'Massive congratulations to you both. We’ve been having bets here on when it’s gonna happen xxx'. (sic)
Series two star Sharon Benson wrote: 'Oh YEY …..what took you guys so long ??? So happy for you both & your blended family 🥂🥰❤️', with Paul Edwards also writing: 'Unbelievable you two, a big big congratulations to you both ❤️❤️❤️'. (sic)
Fan of the show Katie Price then commented: 'Love this I watched you too ❤️'. with Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid writing: 'CONGRATULATIONS!!! ❤️🥂'.

The couple have previously spoken about marriage, with Roger telling Closer Magazine in 2024: “We might well do. In the future, anything could happen, but I do think it would be the icing cake for the pair of us.”
Janey added to the publication: “When I was a lot younger, I saw people get married and always thought I would one day too. I just happen to be 48 and it’s never happened. My parents have been married for 50 years, so I’d love to walk down the aisle and experience it for myself.”
Well, now it looks like it's finally happening! ❤️

After cooling things with Caroline so he could explore his budding connection with Janey, the pair enjoyed spending time together in the retreat, and even shared their first kiss during their final date.
Despite Janey's son Will and Roger's daughter Jess having a few reservations throughout the series, when they met during the final episode it appeared these were put to bed, with both kids giving their parents their blessings.
