Detectives have arrested two teenage boys following reports of a girl being forced into a vehicle in Harlow.
The police were alerted on Monday evening (3rd August) regarding an alleged abduction, which began in the Minton Lane car park at Tesco, Church Langley, shortly after 6.50pm.
The vehicle journeyed to Buckingham Road in Epping, where the girl reportedly exited the car at around 7.30pm.
A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested yesterday (4th August) on suspicion of false imprisonment.
Both have since been released on bail as the investigation continues, according to the police.
Investigators are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage related to the incident to come forward, as it may help in their ongoing inquiries.
DS Paul Marks of Essex Police said:
"We understand this incident has caused concern in the community and I'd like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far.
Based on our enquiries to date, we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the wider public.
