Football: Bruce sells 50% stake in Larne as new investors arrive
Kenny Bruce has sold his stake in Larne, ending a partnership that began in 2017.
The club announced today that Redball Global FC has acquired a 50% shareholding, purchasing Bruce’s stake. The investment will see Nick Giannotti and Eric Perez of Redball Global join the Larne Board of Directors.
Bruce took over Larne in 2017 when they were in the Championship. His invetment contributed to promotion to the top flight, beofre the club went on to win back to back Premiership titles in 2023 and 2024, before becoming the first Irish League club to make the group stages of European competition in last season's UEFA Conference League.
“I have always said that when it came time to hand over my shareholding in the club it would be to people who could give Larne FC a competitive edge moving forward and I am firmly of the belief this is the case," Bruce told the official Larne website.
“Since the moment our conversations began, both Nick and Eric have been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the due diligence and legal process.
“Neither are strangers to football in this part of the world and I am confident they will bring immense value to Larne FC in the years ahead, with their drive and professional experience.”
Minority Shareholder Night Train Veeck says he's delighted at Redball joining the ownership group.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Giannotti and Eric Perez of Redball Global FC to the Larne FC family. I look forward to working closely with them as part of the club’s wider ownership group.
“In a short time, they’ve already shown that their passion, experience, and global football perspective will be invaluable as we take the next steps in the club’s journey," he added.
“We also want to extend our deepest thanks to Kenny Bruce, whose extraordinary vision and commitment to the club brought Larne to where it is today — not just on the pitch, but across our entire community. His legacy will continue through ongoing projects, including his plans for a new main stand that will even further enhance Inver Park and its fan experience.
“This moment marks both a celebration of all we’ve collectively built and the next step into an exciting future.”
Nick Giannotti has this to say on behalf of Redball Global FC: “We want to thank Kenny for all of his dedication to Larne. The club is in a strong position because of him, and his investments in infrastructure.
“It’s very exciting to join a club with a great community, a great ground, great partners, and more. Together I expect glorious days ahead.”
