Teen charged with attempted murder following Lisburn assault

An 18-year old man is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates court on Monday charged with attempted murder.

It is as police investigate a serious assault in Lisburn's Mountview Drive in the early hours of Friday.

The man has been charged with a number of offences including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit and indictable offence.

On Saturday, two 19-year-old men appeared in court after they were charged in relation to the assault.

They were both refused bail and remanded in custody.
