Police are investigating a potential link between two overnight burglaries in Ballygawley.

The incidents at a shop and a business premises were reported yesterday morning in the Lisdoart Road area.

A number of items and a sum of cash was taken from the business premises.

Equipment was damaged in the shop and a sum of money was taken.

Chief Inspector Dodds, said: “Officers received two reports on Friday morning, 9th May, that a business premises and a shop in the Lisdoart Road area had been entered overnight.

“A number of items were taken from the business premises, including a sum of money.

“We understand that the shop had been ransacked, causing damage to equipment, as well as a sum of cash being taken.

“Both investigations are at an early stage and at present we are exploring the possibility that these reports are connected.

“We would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, from Thursday evening, 8th May, into the early hours of Friday morning, 9th May, to make contact with police on 101, quoting reference numbers 294 and 298 09/05/25.”
