A body found at a popular north coast beach is believed to be that of a police officer, according to local reports.

The PSNI says a body was found at Whiterocks Beach in Co Antrim on Sunday the 17th of May.

A police statement said: “A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of the death, which is not believed to be suspicious”.
