Ballymena: Two teenage boys charged with attempted rape of teenage girl

Two teenage boys have been charged with attempted rape following the report of a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl in Ballymena.

They are both due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates' Court this morning (Mon).

A police statement said, "Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl in the Clonavon Terrace area of Ballymena on Saturday evening, 7th June have charged two teenage boys to court."

"They have both been charged with attempted rape and are due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court."

An earlier PSNI statement said, “We would reiterate to the public not to speculate or share information on social media – this is not helpful towards the ongoing investigation.”

“If you were in the Clonavon Terrace or Waveney Road area (Sat)and witnessed what happened or noticed anything suspicious, please make contact with police on 101, quoting reference number 1522 07/06/25.”
