Country megastar Carrie Underwood is reportedly making a rock album under the mentorship her good friend, Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.
A keen rock music fan, Carrie Underwood supported Guns N’ Roses on the band’s North American tour in 2023, and she’s joined them onstage numerous times over the years including at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Her most recent collaboration with Guns N’ Roses came on Saturday night (19th September) when she duetted with Axl on ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and ‘Paradise City’ at Truist Park in Atlanta.
“Yet another amazing show from Guns N’ Roses …this time in Atlanta at Truist Park!,” Underwood wrote on Instagram.
"Thanks, Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Slash… and the whole crew for having us and for letting me try and keep up on stage! You are always so kind! Love you all forever!”
TMZ is now reporting that Underwood is working on new music, and she’s “being mentored” by Axl “as she dabbles in rock."
In a recent interview with Audacy, Underwood said she’s open to recording a rock album, saying: “You never really know with me. I never say never about anything. I feel like certain influences work their way into different songs and different moments, even if they’re not songs that I record.
“I grew up listening to everything. I do have an affinity for rock music and metal, and I just love the energy more than anything. I love going to rock concerts because it feels like freedom to me.”
Carrie Underwood recently went viral with her cover of Limp Bizkit’s ‘Break Stuff’, and she has covered Motörhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’ numerous times over the years.
