Festivalgoers and travellers across the UK should brace for wet weather as the Met Office issues a new yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy showers.
This warning covers areas from south-west England and Wales, extending across the Midlands to the east of England and will be in effect from midday until 9pm on Saturday.
The Met Office predicts possible flooding in some homes and businesses, potential delays to train services, and extended car journey times.
Areas at risk
Forecasts indicate that some regions within the warning zone may experience 15-25 mm of rain in an hour or up to 30 mm in two to three hours, accompanied by hail and lightning.
Festival attendees at events like Reading and Leeds could see rain as low pressure advances eastward, leading to additional showers.
Cricket matches at Lord’s in London are also likely to face disruptions from the weather.
Five mainly Midland areas have Environment Agency flood alerts, indicating possible floods.

This latest warning follows a series of hot spells that contributed to extremely dry conditions across the UK.
The Met Office previously noted that the UK might be experiencing its hottest summer on record, with temperatures soaring up to 38.1C in London during five heatwaves.
