A tree fall at the PGL Activity Centre in Hindhead has left several individuals injured.

Emergency services responded promptly, with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) arriving at approximately 1:40pm yesterday.

One patient with a serious leg injury was airlifted to a London hospital.

Six individuals with less severe injuries were transported to Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford for further treatment.

An additional 11 people were assessed, treated at the scene, and discharged.

The response involved multiple crews including a Critical Care Paramedic from SECAmb, South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, as well as police and fire services.

Surrey Police received a report just before 2pm and attended the scene alongside partners from Surrey Fire & Rescue and SECAmb.

The incident occurred at the popular outdoor activity centre on Marchants Hill in Tilford Road, which offers various adventure experiences for children and families.

A Waverley Borough Council Spokesperson said: “We can confirm that, as the Health and Safety Enforcing Authority for this site, the council is undertaking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident at the PGL activity centre in Marchants Hill.

“Our thoughts remain with the children who were injured, their families and loved ones, and with everyone affected by this distressing incident.

“A full and rigorous investigation is now under way. Our priority is to establish the facts and understand exactly what happened. Given the early stage of the investigation, it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of the incident or on any potential findings.

“Updates will be provided when there is information that can responsibly be shared without prejudicing the investigation.”
