A 13-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following stabbing at a school in north-west London.

The Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges late last night (Wednesday 11th February 2026) against the boy, who can't be named because of his age.

They include two counts of attempted murder and unlawfully spraying insect spray in the face of a third student.

The charges follow an incident on Tuesday 10th February 2026, when police were called to the school at approximately 12:40pm after reports of two students being stabbed.

Two boys, aged 12 and 13, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police say they remain in stable condition.

The boy has also been charged with possession of a knife on school premises, contrary to the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

T/Commander Helen Flanagan, from Counter Terrorism Policing London, said:

“These are extremely serious charges against a young boy, and we continue to support the victims and their families, as well as the wider school community following this shocking incident.

“While we have now charged the boy with these offences, our investigation is ongoing and detectives will continue to carry out enquiries in the local area.

“We are working closely with local policing colleagues in the Brent area and I would also like to thank the school and the wider local community for their support in recent days.”

Detectives are continuing to carry out enquiries in the local area.

The investigation was passed to Counter Terrorism Policing London, although it has not been declared as a terrorist incident.

The 13-year=old boy is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Youth Court today (Thursday 12th February 2026).
