Emergency services tackle large fire in Pershore amid scorching temperatures
Homes damaged and residents evacuated as blaze disrupts local community

Emergency services have been responding to a large fire at Lancelott Court, off Three Springs Road in Pershore.
The fire was reported at around 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 13th August), with the town experiencing temperatures as high as 38 degrees.
One person has been treated for smoke inhalation, and no further injuries have been reported.
Around 30 homes were evacuated due to the fire, and a rest centre set up at Pershore Leisure Centre to assist those unable to return home.
Both British Red Cross and St John’s Ambulance have been providing support at the centre.
People living in the wider area were advised to keep windows and doors shut due to smoke.
Roads surrounding the area were temporarily closed to ensure public safety and to facilitate emergency services operations, with reopening planned once it is safe.
Approximately 200 properties also lost power, though these appear to be reconnected this morning according to National Grid.
