Milton Keynes stabbing leaves 52-year-old man dead as murder investigation launched

A murder investigation is underway in Milton Keynes after a 52-year-old man was fatally stabbed at Centre MK on Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to the incident at around 5:10 pm, and despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.

His family has been notified and is being supported by police liaison officers.

A 50-year-old man from Towcester has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

The coroner has been informed, but the victim's identity has not yet been formally confirmed.

A protective cordon has been established at the shopping centre, and Thames Valley Police are collaborating with Centre MK to address the situation.

Chief Superintendent Emma Baillie, Local Commander for Milton Keynes, said: “We are in the very early stages of this murder investigation, but we have made an arrest and are we are not currently looking for anyone else. There is no known threat to the wider public.

“Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence while we continue to investigate and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers.”
