Police continue to investigate property collapse

A man in his 60s has died following an explosion, fire, and collapse of a property in Newton Longville, Buckinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to Cobb Hall Road on Sunday, 9th August, at around 9.45am.

The man was initially taken to hospital for treatment but has since succumbed to his injuries.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed that they are leading a coronial investigation in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive.

Lead Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Philip Turner-Robson expressed condolences and committed to ongoing enquiries.

"This is a tragic development and our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this extremely difficult time," Turner-Robson said.

"Our enquiries remain ongoing as we seek to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
