Man charged with murder after shooting near Wembley Stadium
An 18 year old has died following the incident last Sunday.
A man has been charged with murder following the death of an 18-year-old from Haringey.
32 year old Adem Altindal, of Wood Green, Haringey was charged with murder on Thursday, 25 September, having been arrested the previous day.
He is set to appear at Haringey Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 26 September.
A second man, aged 39, was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a firearm on Thursday, 25 September.
He remains in police custody.
Shooting close to Wembley Stadium
Police were called at 05:27hrs on Sunday, 21 September to Atlantic Crescent, Wembley to reports of a shooting outside a bar.
Officers attended and found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot injury. He was taken to hospital and sadly died on Thursday, 25 September.
He has been named as Tyrece Balcha from Hillingdon. His next-of-kin are being supported by officers.
'senselessly taken'
In a statement, his family said: “We are devastated that our amazing son, brother, and grandchild who is kind, loving, funny, and hardworking has been senselessly taken from us.
“We are grieving for his life that has been cut short but through his selfless gift as a donor, his spirit will live on. He will be deeply missed.”
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Tyrece at this very difficult time. They continue to be supported by specialist officers, and we ask you to respect their privacy.
"My team continue to work at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death.”
Reassuring community
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in Wembley, added: “We recognise the concern and alarm this incident has caused within the community – particularly as it happened at a busy event.
“We'd like to reassure the public that their safety is of the utmost importance. We have increased patrols in the area, and you will see a continued police presence over the next few days.
“If you have any information about this incident, however small it may seem, please get in touch and let us know."
Two other men were charged with attempted murder on Wednesday, 24 September, having been arrested on Tuesday, 23 September.
39 year old Rafael Reveane Rodriguez, of Middleton Road, Morden appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 25 September.
32 year old Dennis Gambrah, of Dressington Avenue, Lewisham appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
They were both remanded in custody and are set to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 23 October.
Seven more people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
