North West 200: Stacey storms to debut double as Irwin and Dunlop clinch wins
Last updated 10th May 2026
Storm Stacey was the toast of this year's North West 200 after securing a memorable double on his debut at the north coast spectacle.
The 23-year-old became the first newcomer to win a race on his first appearance - in 19 years.
He secured victory in the Superstock race and the second Superbike event.
Stacey triumphed after setting a new lap record in the Superstock to defeat local favourite Michael Dunlop.
"The goal was to just come and have a good, successful North West 200 and go home happy," Stacey said.
"But you get a bit carried away when you are racing. And I really enjoyed that race, partly with Michael because it's a new thing for me.
"I've never raced Michael but it was good having some duels."
Elsewhere, Ballymoney rider Dunlop claimed his ninth win at the event when he took the flag in the Supersport while Carrick's Glenn Irwin won the opening Superbike race.
