Pollen levels to climb this weekend as sunshine continues over NI
High levels of pollen are forecast across much of the UK this weekend, as high pressure continues, keeping conditions mostly dry with plenty of fine weather.
According to the Met Office, birch pollen levels increase from moderate to high in Northern Ireland, with a brief spell of very high levels likely.
Some Moderate levels of ash pollen are still possible. Dry, settled conditions and sunshine will promote pollen release, especially inland and in sheltered valleys.
Steven Keates, Deputy Chief Forecaster said: "High pressure will remain broadly in charge of the UK's weather for the remainder of this week and into the weekend. Most places will remain dry with a fair amount of sunshine too."
Northern Ireland's five-day forecast 👇
This Evening and Tonight: It will be a bright end to the day then a dry night with long clear spells throughout. Becoming chilly overnight in some sheltered valleys. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Friday: Another dry day with long periods of sunshine. Becoming rather warm inland by the afternoon but cooler near the east coast. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday: High pressure will maintain the dry and settled weather with sunshine at times. Feeling quite warm inland but cooler along coasts.
