NI weekly weather forecast as UK set for another heatwave

The Fleadh might be over but that doesn't mean summer is...just yet! Weather experts are predicting warm temperatures are set to return to Northern Ireland and we don't have long to wait.

Much of southern and central England will experience a heatwave this week, with temperatures likely to peak around 36°C on Thursday for some.

Met Office Chief Forecaster Jason Kelly said: “The driver for this week’s heat is high pressure, this becoming dominant over the next day or so, bringing plenty of sunshine and allowing temperatures to build day-by-day."

Northern Ireland might not be hitting any record-breaking figures this week, so temperatures are expected to hit the mid-20's°C.

Today: It will be a dry and bright day with warm sunny spells, although the sunshine will occasionally turn hazy during the afternoon. Winds will be light Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight: It will be a dry evening with some bright or sunny spells to end the day. Remaining dry overnight with variable cloud and some clear spells. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Tuesday: A dry and bright day with variable cloud and some hazy sunny spells. Light winds and becoming very warm. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: A very warm period with a good deal of dry and bright weather. There will also be the chance of some showery bursts of rain which could be heavy.
