Woman released on bail following Newry crash in which young girl was fatally injured

A woman has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with a crash in Newry, in which a six year old girl was fatally injured.

The child, Kourtney Khloe McCormick, was hit by a van in the Springfarm Heights area on Sunday.

She was taken to hospital but later died of her injuries.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of what happened.

In a statement this morning the PSNI said, “A 40-year-old woman who was arrested after a six-year-old girl died following a road traffic collision in the Springfarm Heights area of Newry on Sunday, 21st June has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.”
