Two dead following two-vehicle Lisburn crash

Two people have died following a two-vehicle crash in Lisburn on Saturday night.

The PSNI said it happened just before six o'clock last night between a motorbike and a car in the Glenavy Road area of Upper Ballinderry.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended, however, sadly, two people – the drivers of both vehicles – were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash happened on Saturday night between a motorbike and a car in the Glenavy Road area of Upper Ballinderry

"Another person was taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.

“The road, which was closed for a time between the junctions of Soldierstown Road and Hammonds Road, has since reopened."

Meanwhile in a separate crash one person died in a crash in the Caledon area.

It happened on the Derrycourtney Road.
