Fire Service dealing with 'small gorse fires' in Sixmilecross & Newtownhamilton

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service officials are attending more gorse fire incidents today (Thursday).

A NIRFS statement said: “We are currently in attendance at small gorse fires in Tursallagh Road, Sixmilecross and Friary Road, Newtownhamilton.

“With the weather warning still in place, we are reminding the public to adhere to our fire safety advice. Please stay vigilant to fire in the countryside. If you see a fire, call 999.”

There have been multiple wildfire outbreaks in different parts of Northern Ireland in the past number of days.
