A fire has broken out at a building in Portadown.

Fire officers are currently at the scene in the Clonavon Road area - just off the town centre.

A fire has broken out at a building in Portadown.

It is understood the building is derelict but there were fears the blaze could spread to nearby houses.

In a statement the PSNI advised: "Road users are advised Clonavon Avenue in Portadown is currently closed due a fire at a building in the area.

"Please seek alternate routes for your journey."
