Celtic have beaten Hearts on the last day of the season to win their fifth league title in a row.

Martin O’Neill’s side went into the game at Celtic Park a point behind the league leaders and needed a win to pip them to the trophy in an epic final day title decider.

The interim manager last won the league with the club during his first spell in charge in 2004.

Late goals from Daezen Maeda and Callum Osmand proved decisive in a dramatic finale which saw the Hoops win 3-1.

Lawrence Shankland headed Hearts in front before Arne Engels’ penalty drew Celtic level just before half time.

Hearts had been top of the league table since October and were on the brink of winning their first title in 66 years.

Celtic have now been league champions a record 56 times, moving one ahead of city rivals Rangers.

Supporters are expected to gather in Glasgow’s Trongate area to celebrate after today's match.
