Staff threatened with knife during attempted robbery in Lisburn

Two men in their 30s are being questioned on suspicion of attempted robbery, after staff at a supermarket in Lisburn were threatened with a knife.

Nothing was taken during the incident which happened in Warren Gardens around 5.25 on Friday evening.

Detective Sergeant Cargin said: "It was reported at around 5.25pm that two males entered the premises in the in the Warren Gardens area of Lisburn. One of the men was armed with a knife, they demanded money from staff before making off from the scene. Nothing was taken during the incident.

"A short time later two men, both aged 33, were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and remain in custody at this time.

"Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact 101 quoting reference number 1305 of 07/03/25."
