15 EGG'cellent Easter events across Northern Ireland this weekend

House coming down with chocolate eggs and hot cross buns? Well why not grab your coat and head outdoors to explore this Easter season.

There are a number of fun-filled activities taking place across Northern Ireland during the Easter break, including crafts, egg hunts, and bunny trails.

We've put together this handy guide of fun places to visit and events running over Easter weekend nearby.

Easter at the Ark Farm

Easter at the Ark Farm in Newtownards is always one to remember. This is your chance to feed real little lambs, harvest carrots, plant a sunflower and become a 'Little Farmer' in their Easter Farmer's Shed. You can decorate your own egg & make bunny ear headbands in the Easter tent. There's so much to see and do here, that will entertain all ages during the Easter break.

CastleCourt's Easter Extravaganza

There's a jam packed weekend planned for you & the kids this weekend at CastleCourt, everything from decorating yummy chocolate Easter eggs to scales & tails at the Reptile Zoo, there's even the opportunity to meet magical characters including Spider-Man, Belle & Mirabel. Plus FREE face painting on the mall, what's not to love!

Celebrate Easter at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens with the Lindt GOLD BUNNY

Capture a kaleidoscope of colour this springtime at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens as Historic Royal Palaces welcomes visitors back to savour the sights and sounds of the season as the gardens spring with activity across the Castle's 100-acre estate. Embark on a seasonal adventure searching for Lindt GOLD BUNNY statues peeking out from colourful blooms and take part in nature-inspired games across 100 acres. Completion of the trail includes a miniature Lindt GOLD BUNNY 10g chocolate treat.

Easter fun at W5!

Hop down to W5 this Easter and into a world of cracking fun for the whole family. From interactive experiences to creative challenges, there's excitement waiting around every corner for curious minds of all ages. It's the perfect mix of play and discovery designed to spark creativity, inspire little explorers and fill your day with unforgettable family moments this Easter.

Easter at Belfast Zoo

The team at Belfast Zoo are prepping to host fantastic family day out this weekend, filled with seasonal fun and activities from 11am to 4pm each day. Activities include an Easter Egg Hunt around the Zoo, walk-around characters bringing Easter magic to life, and touch tables with real animal artefacts. There will also be a free shuttle bus to and from Valley Leisure Centre on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 April.

Easter Trail at The Jungle

This Easter sees the return of The Jungle's Easter Trail, with a range of activities from a dance-along Easter disco to interactive Easter characters and seasonal treats. Set within their beautiful woodland surroundings in Moneymore, the Jungle Easter Trail is designed especially for young children and families, combining gentle adventure, interactive characters, music, treats and Easter surprises along the way.
Their events runs from Saturday 4th to Tuesday 7th April and spaces are limited, so book online asap.



Step into a realm where forest fairies and elves bring the woods to life! Follow the clues, solve puzzles, and meet brand new characters along the way, making this The Jungle's most immersive Easter Trail yet!

Armagh Planetarium hosts 'Wee Critters' Interactive Animal Experience

Join Allan the Explorer as he takes you on an interactive adventure along with his team of 'wee Critters', Allan will bring the natural world straight to the planetarium for you to enjoy! Allan has a range of mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian and invertebrate species waiting to meet you! Ticket includes entrance to the Planetarium exhibition area, workshop and sensory room.

Breakfast with The Ivy Bunny

This weekend enjoy a specially curated breakfast menu for both adults and kids and enjoy fun and photos with The Ivy Bunny. With delectable food and great company, Breakfast With Bunny will provide the perfect start to a fabulously fun, family day out this Easter.

Celebrate a traditional Easter at the Ulster American Folk Park

From Sunday 5th to Tuesday 7th April, discover Easter traditions like the custom of cross-roads dancing, dress-up in different Easter bonnets for a family photo and take a horse and carriage ride at the Ulster American Folk Park.
Bring you're little ones along for the Easter Card Trail and take part in Easter themed craft activities. Dress-up in different Easter bonnets and accessories for a family photo!

All aboard the Easter Eggspress

The Easter Bunny has been stockpiling all sorts of treats for the children travelling on the Easter Eggspress in Downpatrick. Your tickets entitle you to take part in the word hunt game, meet the Easter Bunny to collect your Easter Egg, face-painting and visit to the museum in the station building.

Easter Quest for Dance of the Dragons at the Game of Thrones Studio Tour

This Easter, the Dance of the Dragons brings two weeks of incredible activities, encounters and experiences that go far beyond the ordinary – all included as part of your visit.
From hands-on crafts to real-life birds of prey and extraordinary reptile encounters, there's something to spark the imagination of every explorer in your family.

Easter at Glenarm Castle

Explore the Walled Garden and Woodland Walk, let the kids burn off some energy in the Woodland Adventure Play Area, or hop into the driver's seat with the Mini Land Rover Experience. Take part in their much-loved Easter Eye Spy & Activity sheet while exploring the estate and enjoy great food, shopping, and even a dedicated Dog Park for your four-legged friends.

FREE Easter fun in the heart of Belfast city centre

Belfast One is welcoming families into the city centre to enjoy a host of free, family-friendly Easter activities later this week. On Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th April, in the heart of the Belfast, families will find a programme of exciting activities to keep the whole family entertained over the school holidays.

2 Royal Avenue will become an Easter Extravaganza, with spring-themed arts and crafts in the butterfly and bee garden craft area, an educational beehive and bug hotel and a kids' Spring disco with fun DJ Dee Johnson. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt filled with treats and prizes, face painting, balloon modelling and few surprise visits from some very famous Easter characters.

The Eggspress Steam Adventure at Whitehead Railway Museum

Visitors can enjoy exploring the five-gallery museum, packed with fascinating railway history and interactive displays. Take a short steam train ride within the premises (approximately 10 minutes) and experience the sights, sounds and smells of steam in action.
Little explorers can follow the Easter Trail around the museum and don't miss the chance to meet the Easter Bunny, who will be handing out a special chocolate egg to every child.
