Blue Lights and Say Nothing stars nominated for TV Baftas

The nominations for the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards were announced today, with local shows Say Nothing and Blue Lights getting recognised.

BBC police drama Blue Lights has been nominated in the Drama Series category, alongside Sherwood, Supacell and Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light.

Belfast actress Lola Petticrew has been nominated for Leading Actress in Disney's Say Nothing.

The gripping series based on the best-selling book by Patrick Radden Keefe, was also nominated for best international programme and best supporting actress (Maxine Peake).

Petticrew was excited to share the news on social media this afternoon, writing: "Thank you @bafta huge huge honour 🖤✨

"I’m so endlessly proud of this show and everyone involved. 4 nominations for the show!! including the incredible @betteblavatsky who I’ve looked up to since I was a nipper and got to share this part with. Dreamy. GRMA

The BAFTA TV Awards also celebrate the best TV moment of the year, with nominees this year including scenes from Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, Bridgerton, Mr Bates Vs The Post Office, Rivals, Strictly Come Dancing and The Traitors.

According to Northern Ireland Screen, Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure made by Derry-based Alleycats TV is nominated in the Daytime category.

Local production designer Ashleigh Jeffers has been also nominated in the Production Design category for his work on Breathtaking.

When are the BAFTA Television Awards?

The BAFTA TV Awards ceremony will be hosted by actor Alan Cumming on Sunday 11 May.
