Alex Warren recently announced his second album 'Wildchild', and revealed how one of the songs was inspired by his late dad, who passed away when Alex was just nine-years-old. The song, which he told Hits Radio was too emotionally difficult for him to perform live, is called 'I Miss You More'.

Now as many countries celebrated Father's Day on 21st June 2026, Alex shared a couple of posts about his late dad. In one post, the singer shared a pic of him with his dad on a fairground ride, paying tribute to his dad saying: 'Dad, you taught me everything I know today except how to live without you. You may be gone from this world but you’re still everywhere in mine. In everything I do you’re there. Whenever I cry you’re in my tears, whenever I laugh it’s your voice I hear. At every show I still look for you in the crowd. I love you.'

Messages of support were left by hundreds of fans, including one who wrote: 'Somewhere, your dad is probably the loudest one in the crowd. 🤍', another said: 'thinking about everyone without their dads today ❤️'. And a third commented: 'So beautifully written and could not agree more. Love you, brother'.

Alex has been open about losing his dad at a young age, and his mum more recently. When speaking about his upcoming album, the singer told Hits Radio: "There's a song called ‘I Miss You More’ and that to me it is really, really difficult for me to listen to, I don't even play it live because it's so difficult to sing emotionally.

"When we wrote it, I went to my dad's grave and I played it for... I play my songs when I write them for my parents and I go to their grave and play it. And I just think it's like a beautiful moment. And I just... I bawled my eyes out."

The singer has now also shared an emotional clip of the song for Father's Day, writing: 'I miss you more, the more you miss.' In the video he can be seen singing along to his song, which has the lyrics: 'Instead of talking to the dark, so much I wanna say, and I don't wanna skip a part.

'I went out to and bought your old car, that I wasn't old enough to drive. I didn't have your help, so I taught myself, wish that I could take you for a ride. I miss you more, the more you miss...'

Alex has not yet confirmed if he will release 'I Miss You More' as a standalone single, but he is due to release his second album 'Wildchild' on Friday 28th August 2026.
