A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
A woman in Accrington has been taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds following an assault.
Police were called to Warwick Street in Church at 10:40am today (Sunday 15 March), where they found a woman in her 30s inside a property with a number of stab wounds.
She remains in hospital in critical condition.
A 39-year-old man, from Church and believed to be known to the woman, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
Reassurance patrols are being increased in the area as a precaution.
