Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Horncastle

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found unconscious at a property in Horncastle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Lincolnshire police received a report that a 27-year-old woman had suffered serious injuries at a property on Warwickshire Way, Horncastle at around 4:30pm on Thursday.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy McWatt said:

"We are at the very early stages of our investigation and are keeping an open mind as to how this tragic incident unfolded. Our priority is to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.

"We are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything - no matter how insignificant it may seem - to contact us. Any piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together exactly what happened and in securing justice for the victim."
