Doncaster born Jeremy Clarkson has announced he has an 'aggressive' form of cancer. The former Top Gear TV presenter revealed the news on his show Clarkson's Farm - where he's seen telling his shocked co-stars.

"I’ve got cancer," Jeremy told farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland, as they were talking about harvest planning. The 66-year-old described the disease as "aggressive" but says it's at a "really early stage". He also said he would be "fine", but might be out of action "for a while".

Jeremy hasn't yet revealed what type kind of cancer he has, but the series concluded with him in hospital, and that as part of his treatment, a portion of his prostate had been removed.

From hospital, he said: "We started season five with me in a hospital bed and here we are at the end of season five and I’m back in a hospital bed.

"What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone."

The TV presenter also took to Instagram to share an announcement, telling fans he had some good news and bad news. After revealing the good news was about having an advert placed just before England's kick off in the World Cup, Jeremy continued: "Sombre news, Clarkson's Farm...

"Erm, ordinarily we try to keep the show bucolic and charming, cheerful, but the final two episodes which drop in the middle of the night tonight are none of those things really, they're a difficult watch. They're really, really difficult..."

In response to his video fans have been leaving messages of support, with one writing: 'As much as we enjoyed you doing farming badly, it's been great to see you getting better and better, I sat home hoping the robots work because we all know how much you don't trust self driving things, thanks for the warning but we will watch.'

Another commented: 'I appreciate you for what you’ve done with your show. Sending love from a family ranch in Oregon.'

Jeremy's latest diagnosis comes just two years after he was hospitalised for a heart condition - which was shown in the opening episode of the current series of Clarkson's Farm. At the time, he was fitted with two stents to improve blood flow to his heart.
