Simple Minds announce May 2027 UK arena tour with Gary Numan
Celebrating five decades as a band
Simple Minds have announced a May 2027 UK arena tour with very special guest Gary Numan.
Also taking in shows across the globe, the Simple Minds V Tour 2027 is billed as a ‘panoramic live music experience’ and ‘an all-encompassing celebration of music across 5 decades.’
The UK leg opens at London’s The O2 on Thursday 6th May and visits Manchester Co-Op Live, Birmingham Utilita Arena, Nottingham Motorpoint Arena, Leeds First Direct Arena and Newcastle Utilita Arena before concluding with a homecoming show at Glasgow OVO Hydro on Friday 14th May.
Tickets go on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets at 9.30am on Friday 11th September.
Prior to the tour, Simple Minds release their 20th studio album ‘Sacrosanct’ on Friday 29th January via BMG.
Jim Kerr says of the eight-song record: “We called the album Sacrosanct because after a lifetime of doing this — nearly fifty years of writing songs together — it’s stopped feeling like a career and started feeling like something closer to faith. Calling the record Sacrosanct isn’t an exaggeration. It’s just honest.”
He adds: "Making records and performing live is as much part of our lives now as when we started out. We feel grateful to those who support new music from Simple Minds and look forward to seeing you all on our upcoming world tour."
The metalwork on the album artwork comes from a collaboration between Simple Minds and Glasgow-born sculptor Andy Scott, who has reimagined the band's logo in steel.
