The promoter behind Oasis' record-breaking Live '25 reunion tour has been granted a premises licence for legendary rock concert venue Knebworth House.

North Hertfordshire Council has given SJM Concerts the licence, effective from last Saturday and remaining in place indefinitely, which would enable the concert organiser to host events featuring live music, with bars to stay open until 3am.

In the application from SJM, who have been the UK live promoters for Oasis since their 90s rise to superstardom, the company states that they expect 125,000 people to attend the venue at any one time.

Whilst it's worth noticing that SJM also organise concerts for the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Muse, Take That and Coldplay, fans are speculating that the licence would seem to be the first official indication that plans are afoot to stage the much-rumoured return to Knebworth for Noel, Liam & co.

The band last played the site, which made its name hosting huge concerts by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Queen, on 10th & 11th August 1996 which led many fans to presume that a 30th anniversary concert would take place in 2026.

The band quashed rumours of any 2026 shows after a fake tweet teasing shows said to be accidentally sent from the Knebworth House account went viral.

In 2024 the owner of Knebworth House, Henry Lytton Cobbold expressed his optimism that the band would return to play the hallowed venue saying "It will happen one day, we're not going anywhere."

Whilst ruling out shows in 2026, Liam Gallagher has seemingly confirmed a number of European dates in conversations with fans, both online and in-person.

A widely-reported rumour from a supposed Oasis "insider" stated that the band are gearing up for an unprecedented 12 night residency at their beloved Etihad Stadium in Manchester next summer, with 6 more shows planned for Knebworth.

At the moment, the Oasis camp is as tight-lipped as the secret service, but let's watch this space and get a little bit excited shall we?

Until then, we can look forward to the much-vaunted documentary 'Don't Look Back In Anger', directed by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, which hits cinemas on 11th September this year.
