Neil Young explains reason for UK and European tour axe
He cancelled without explanation last month

Neil Young has issued a vague explanation about why he cancelled his entire UK and European tour last month.
Just 10 weeks after it was first announced, Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts axed their entire European tour on 6th February including their seven planned summer shows in the UK and Ireland.
At the time, Young wrong on his official Neil Young Archives website: “I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time.
“Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts.
“LOVE Neil. be well.”
Answering fan questions on his website recently, Neil Young was asked if “everything was ok?” in light of the cancellation.
80-year-old Young responded to the fan: “All is good Michael. Just needed a break. Listening to my body.”
Another fan then asked Young to give a “better understanding of the decision to cancel” the trek, especially as many had spent a lot of money on travel plans.
Young echoed his previously response explaining he “needed a break.”
Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts played two UK shows in summer 2025, headlining Glastonbury and American Express presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.
