Queen’s Brian May has been named among the performers at the world-leading science and music festival, STARMUS.

Co-founded by astronomer Garik Israelian and rock icon and astrophysicist Sir Brian May in 2007, STARMUS is an international gathering focused on celebrating astronomy, space exploration, music, art, and the natural sciences.

This year’s event - STARMUS VIII – The Search for Truth - takes place from Saturday 17th to Thursday 22nd October in Tenerife and La Palma, and it boasts an eclectic musical line-up on the opening night.

Brian May will perform on a line-up that also features legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, internationally acclaimed soprano Sarah Brightman, the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra and the STARMUS All Stars Band.

More special guest appearances will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Bringing together iconic voices from across the worlds of classical music, rock, and performance, the concert promises to be one of the most ambitious and memorable musical events in STARMUS history.

The celebration forms part of STARMUS VIII, the global festival that unites science, exploration, music, and art, bringing together leading scientists, astronauts, Nobel laureates, thinkers, and artists from around the world.

Brian says: "From Neil Armstrong to Richard Dawkins to Jean-Michel Jarre and beyond, past Starmus festivals have delivered their promise of uniting top level art and science. Starmus VIII will continue that quest with its theme ‘The Search For Truth’, and our hopes are very high.”
