Aerosmith share video teasing live return
It looks like they're playing two concerts
Aerosmith have shared a video strongly hinting at their live return two years after they retired from touring.
The short 30-second clip features Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler standing on a step ladder as he puts up a sign outside the entrance to the Hollywood Bowl in California.
With music photographer Ross Halfin goading him, ‘do you even know how to spell Aerosmith?!’, Tyler replies emphatically “And Friends, Ross! Aerosmith and Friends!”
The video ends with the words ‘Aerosmith & Friends, Oct 29 / Nov 1’ emblazoned on the sign and the promise that ‘all will be revealed’ at 3pm UK time on Tuesday 6th October.
Back in August 2024, Aerosmith made the “heartbreaking decision” to “retire from the touring stage” due to frontman Steven Tyler’s fractured larynx. All postponed dates on their North American tour were cancelled.
In January 2025, the five members of Aerosmith were rumoured to be reuniting for a performance at the sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party at Hollywood Palladium.
That reunion didn’t come to fruition; however Steven Tyler did share the stage with Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton at the charity event for performances of ‘Walk This Way’ and ‘Sweet Emotion’.
Steven Tyler was also one of the standout performers at Black Sabbath’s ‘Back to the Beginning concert in July 2025, singing on ‘The Train Kept A-Rollin' and ‘Walk This Way’ / ‘Whole Lotta Love’ as part of Supergroup B.
Joe Perry previously told Eddie Trunk in last August that Aerosmith are “talking about” returning to the stage.
"I mean, except for like, anything on the calendar, we’re all alive and well, so, you know, we’ll just have to see, you know? I know there’s gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one."
When asked if Steven Tyler would manage a full concert with his vocal cord issues, Perry responded: "You know, I think he would. I think it’s just a matter of getting there."
Aerosmith’s last concert took place at UBS Arena in Elmont, New Jersey on 9th September 2023.
